Exitosa película con la que Yoshiyuki Tomino, creador del Universo Gundam, pone fin a una de las rivalidades más emblemáticas dentro del mundo del anime, Char Aznable y Amuro Ray. Es el año 0093 del Universal Century, luego de creerlo muerto, Char Aznable aparece en gloria y majestad con un nuevo ejercito de Neo Zeon decidido a cobrar venganza contra los humanos egoístas que contaminan la Tierra, lanzando un gran asteroide contra ella. Amuro Ray y su viejo amigo, el comandante de la Flota de Londo Bell, Bright Noa, unen fuerzas una vez mas para intentar detener a Char y su plan maníaco de llevar la Tierra hacia un invierno nuclear. Haciendo uso del fabuloso Nu Gundam, Amuro lleva al limite su potencial Newtype para luchar contra su digno enemigo, Char Aznable.
