Situada en medio de la serie original, The 08th MS team nos cuenta las peripecias del teniente Shiro Amada a quién le es asignado el mando del octavo pelotón de Mobile Suits que está compuesto por un comando de soldados indisciplinados mientras combate a las fuerzas de Zeon emplazadas en la tierra. Sin saberlo Shiro experimentará de todo en el campo de batalla pero por sobretodo, experimentará el amor pero no será precisamente de la gente de su propio bando.
